Today was the first day of the Willow Creek Arts Conference. The first two days of the conference are general sessions that are full of encouragement and wonderful ideas of using the arts and creating moments that make an impact for the Kingdom. There are over 1000 churches represented at this year's conference and there are probably 4,000 cars getting in and out of the parking lot every day. Even though our hotel is only 5 miles from the church, with stop lights and waiting, it takes me about 35 minutes to get from my door to being inside the church.
Ruthy, Riah and Rachel spent the afternoon at the hotel. They went for a walk on a path that goes from our hotel to a nearby pond. They tried swimming, but one parent with two small kids didn't work so well. So after about 10 minutes, they returned with a screaming two year old to really wanted to stay.
Today the conference started later in the afternoon and went until 10 PM. Tomorrow it starts early.
