Springing Forward

Here's a look at the last few months for us:

Javan
Javan is 3 1/2 now and such a great kid!! He loves to laugh and make others happy. He has found a new role-model in the last month....Coach Elmer at Ruthy's school. Coach Elmer is a great guy and he's very strong. A few months ago Javan asked Coach Elmer if he could push down a wall....from that time on, he and Javan have been pretty good buddies. Well, Coach Elmer always wears shorts and a long sleeve shirt. Guess what Javan has worn every day for the last 3 weeks+ (including Sundays)....shorts and a long sleeve shirt....except for the time he wore his new soccer pants!

This week I took all three kids to the MSSU Symphony. I prepped them ahead of time that we would have to dress up. Javan asked if he could wear his overalls! Thankfully with a little persuasion from his sisters he picked a handsome long sleeve shirt and sweater vest with dress pants! YEAH!!!! He did great at the Symphony too. We'll go back again sometime!!

He loves to be outside. After spring break he will be starting on a 3-year old's soccer team. He is SO excited! He loves to practice his "Soccer Dance" for when he scores a goal.....thanks, Jordan, he loves learning this from you!


Moriah
Moriah is really enjoying preschool. She has met several new friends and one of them is going to be on the same soccer team with Moriah!! She is really excited to start playing soccer. She started her first practice on Thursday and knew 4 of the 5 other kids on their team. She couldn't wait to get to soccer!

I've always said that Moriah is helping prepare me for Javan. Moriah always fell down more than Ruthy (she plays rougher) and then Javan went to the ER twice before he was 2. Moriah doesn't like to wear dresses..and you already heard about Javan's wardrobe. Well, when it was time for the Symphony I told Moriah she didn't have to wear a dress, but she did need to look nicer than jeans. She picked out a dress that Ruthy had just recently handed down. She told me the next morning that the dress she wore would be the only dress she was going to wear (ever) because it was pretty. She did look beautiful in it. It doesn't really matter what she wears, because when she smiles and wrinkles up her little nose it brightens any room.

Ruthy
Ruthy is sailing through 1st grade. Last week we had a garage sale and she had a pop & cookie stand with a friend. They learned quickly the value of hard work and determination! :) Ruthy wasn't slowed-down by those who ignored her commercials, songs, and cheers while she attempted to 'advertise' their business! She's always been a hard worker and quite the leader.

Ruthy loved going to the Symphony. It was great when we walked in and the program showed a picture of Beethoven and she recognized him.

Ruthy didn't want to play soccer this year and is trying to decide what she'd like to do: violin lessons, flute lessons, dance lessons, gymnastics, get her ears pierced......do you see how many decisions she has! : )



We are so excited for spring break this week to be able to spend time together as a family. We hope to have lots of laughs, fun, and make many good memories!!
