Tball, Storms & More

Tball has started with games on Saturdays. Last weekend, we enjoyed my parents' visit down here. We love spending time with them!! Even though the actual game got rained out, we had a lot of fun playing together. We played outside, showed them Petland and even played at Chuck-E-Cheese.

Friday morning about 7:15am, as we were getting ready for Ruthy to go to school, 90-100mph winds blew through the Joplin-Oronogo area. The weather men didn't predict it. We ran for the crawl space when I saw the slide (that was screwed into the swingset) doing flips in the back yard. It was over very quickly but we had some minor damage and no electricity when it was over. The kids did a great job doing exactly what I told them as the storm came up with no warning. We lost some siding and some shingles and had outdoor toys all-over the neighborhood, but we're safe and everything will be fine. It's something to talk about for awhile though. Our power was out until about 2:30.

On Saturday the kids had their first Tball game. They both did really good. The most exciting part was that they were able to get some gum after the game, but they both had fun during the game too.

Saturday night we enjoyed having friends over for supper and showers as they didn't have power. We need to make a better effort to do suppers with friends even when the power returns. We had a great time and the kids had fun playing.

We're thankful for so many wonderful blessings. We're thankful for great neighbors who help out during a storm (or when the van needs jumped on a Sunday morning!), we're thankful for our safety & health, our family and friends and for our Mothers, today on Mother's day. We love you all!
