Weekend

yesterday was beautiful. since we had a frost a few days ago we can go play in our yard again. We went out for probably two hours in the morning and another hour or so in the afternoon. The weather was beautiful!! Javan has gotten so much better at climbing down the patio by himself now. he even climbs up the slide and turns around at the top to slide back down. He loves the sand box but now knows he's not supposed to dump it out, but thinks it's fun anyway. Moriah spent a lot of time in the sand box too. Ruthy made several sand castles and we hid toys in the sand for the other person to find. She had a lot of fun doing that.

We went out to lunch at a Mexican restaurant, Mucho Mexico. It's a little hole-in-the-wall place that is terrific. Javan fell asleep on the way there and stayed asleep while I took him out of his carseat, while we sat down, while Mark got the girls' food, and when I got up to get mine. He even stayed asleep while I ate my entire meal, waking up at the last few bites. So then we waited for him to eat. he loved their chimichangas and ate two of them.

today we woke up and went to the donut shop. Then Mark picked up some bagels for church tomorrow. Then we went to Wal-mart to find some slippers. Moriah's been saying her feet were cold (and socks wouldn't do). We found some fuzzy pink ones that were really cute. She wore them all day and even left them on during naps.

We had a pet....for a couple hours!!! Ruthy found a lady bug that "just loved her so much". So she had to bring it inside and take care of it. We found a plastic jug she could put her in and she wouldn't fly out of. Ruthy left her in there during naptime. When she came out and remembered it she walked around carrying it. She decided that instead of letting the little ladybug go outside to play with her friends, Ruthy would find another ladybug friend and bring it in too. She talked to her ladybug and found out that she really wanted to stay with Ruthy. So, Ruthy took her ladybug out of the jar and went outside to look for a friend. Unfortunately, the first ladybug flew away or fell off Ruthy's finger so that ended that! I guess we're slowly working our way up to a real pet.

We grilled out tonight for supper and then made smores when we were done. It was a lot of fun and Ruthy enjoyed cooking hers.

Then, before bedtime the girls seranaded us with songs. (we don't usually know the songs as Ruthy makes them up but Moriah follows along). Today Moriah was playin the cello (a.k.a- a guitar the kids play with placed between her knees and she strums it). Although since it was Moriah, she put her feet on top the guitar as it sat between her knees resting on the floor!!! Ruthy sang the song wtih a maracca as her microphone. They had a lot of fun.
