Sprinkler Fun!

Today was a hot 102 degrees with a heat index of 106. Our house feels really comfortable so we've been fine.

Mark stayed home today and we worked around the house and played. We hung up our kitchen curtains and pictures. The girls love reading books so we read several books. Then I made "Snakes" for lunch. Actually, it was a strombolli that was supposed to look like a snake. Ruthy was really upset about eating a snake and even though she helped us roll out the dough and I talked to her about the rest of it (spaghetti sauce and meat) she had a really hard time eating it. Both girls were ready for naps after lunch and it was nice for Mark to put them to bed. Moriah slept for two hours then an hour and a half or so in my arms on the couch after that. Ruthy slept about two hours and both girls woke up much happier.

For supper Mark made pork chops with mangos. They were really good. Ruthy and Moriah both ate all their meat. They are such food critics. For the most part, neither of them are too picky. Ruthy's more than willing to try anything (yeah!!) and Moriah's learning to follow suit. Moriah still isn't a big fan about veggies though. This week when we've been eating Moriah keeps asking "Good?" She wants to make sure everyone else likes it before she's going to eat it. They both ate up all their supper (except Moriah didn't eat the green beans, in fact with the three she tried she'd try it, spit it out and say "uck" every time).

Tonight we pulled out the sprinkler and played outside. We tried it a few weeks ago and neither of the girls would run through the water but today was totally different. Ruthy ran up to the sprinkler and just stood almost on top of it. Moriah wasn't quite as brave but did enjoy it. We played in the water for about 30-45 minutes then enjoyed some popsicles. We came inside and all had fun talking to Gma & Gpa Humphrey. Both girls love to talk on the phone. Moriah is becoming quite the conversationalist.

Tomorrow we're going to get ready for Gma & Gpa Bond and Bonita & Brandon to come on Thursday. Ruthy is really excited to have company. Gma Bond's siblings are having a reunion this weekend in Joplin and it will be fun to see everyone.
