Today we went to the Oronogo Community Fair. The Masonic Lodge had a booth there where they did Child ID packets. It was a really neat program. They took all the necessary info (name, height, weight, hair/eye color, phone numbers, etc). Then they took a picture of each kid and a picture of each of their ears. Then, at the next booth they took a digital finger print of each finger. Then, they made ID cards about the size of a drivers' license. They gave us two of these (one for each parent to keep in their wallets). Then, for each child they made a cd of the information, pics etc to keep in our files, gave us a copy of the kids' information and fingerprints, etc. Then, at the next table they took a dental impression. From the dental impressions they can get the DNA as well as a scent to give to the dogs if a child is lost. Unfortunately, neither of the girls wanted to stick it in their mouths, but they did allow me to swab it with a Q-tip. It was a neat experience and a great resource. Then, we went to Papa Johns as today was their Customer Appreciation Days and pizzas were $5/each. We took our pizza and went to a park to eat it. It was a lot of fun and so nice to have a sunny day!!

After that, we came home for naps. We told the girls they had to nap as we had a big surprise for tonight. Truman Elementary has a big fire works display to celebrate the end of the year. They also do a big afternoon with carnival games, blow-up games, etc. So the kids and I went to the fireworks tonight. This was the closest we've been to big fireworks displays so I knew the girls would be a little scared. Thankfully Javan fell asleep before it started so I put him in the van. (The fireworks display was in a big empty lot at the church so we parked up there). The girls and I were sitting on a blanket and we didn't make it through their first display. Both girls were really scared and holding their ears. So, we went and sat in the drivers' seat of the van. Ruthy liked it since it wasn't so loud, but Moriah sat on my lap covering her eyes the entire time, and Javan slept through it!! It was a beautiful display and a good experience.

We're excited about church tomorrow. The girls just found out that Promotion Sunday is coming up in a few weeks so they only have a few weeks left in their current classes.
