Tuesday we welcomed another little girl into our family (see earlier blog). My sister, Meredith, had her third daughter, Carrie. We are all anxious to meet her and see everyone. They live in IN so it's too rare that we get to see them.
Wednesday we babysat a little 1 year old, Faith. The girls had a fun time playing with her. She was here from 7am-2:30pm. We had a good time. We anxiously waited for Aunt Bonita & Cousin Brandon (Mark's sister) to come. Bonita & Brandon arrived in time for supper. We all enjoyed visiting and playing together.
Faith didn't come on Thursday (I was "substitute babysitting" for my friend, Stephanie, who watches Faith every weekday). We enjoyed the time just as our family reading books (Ruthy's favorite) and playing blocks (the girls were impressed with Brandon's block castle), and just spending time together.
Thursday night we went to Sirloin Stockade in Carthage. It was so good! They have a huge buffet.
Friday we woke up early to welcome Faith again. We played all morning with her. It was too cold to go outside unfortunately. No one napped at the same time on Friday and Moriah and Javan were still a little cranky from their colds. We did have a fun time though and Faith is a really good baby so it was okay.
Friday was Brandon's 17th birthday!! We decorated the house with blue and white balloons and streamers in honor of his birthday and his love for the Indiana Colts. We ate ham, mashed potatoes, cole slaw, and rolls. Bonita picked up a triple chocolate cake from the W-Mart bakery that we all enjoyed. Afterwards, we went to Chuck-E-Cheese to play games.
We woke up this morning and Bonita had Easter baskets for the kids. They were surprised to open them (but were able to do it since Bonita & Brandon won't be here at Easter). Afterwards, we ate breakfast that Bonita got at McDonald's early this morning. Bonita & Brandon left to go home at 9am and Mark left for work at 10. The girls and I got ready and went to a clothes sale. Mt. Hope church has a huge clothing sale this weekend and people bring in clothes on consignment. Most of the clothes (if the consigner requested it) were marked 50% off today!! I picked up $44 worth of clothes and shoes for the kids and none of my outfits were over $2/piece!! Then, I went Wear-abouts, the children's consignment store that I visited a few months back, and sold her some of Moriah's 24 month summer clothes. I was going to keep them for this summer for her but she's outgrown them finally in the last two months. She gave me $32 of in-store credit, so I'm happy!
Then, we met Mark and went to the Chinese Restaurant in Carthage. The girls did a GREAT job shopping today and didn't whine and obeyed wonderfully. So, it was a nice special treat for them too. While we were there, Mark was doing some "magic tricks" with Ruthy. She had a bowl with one grape inside. Mark would put his napkin over the bowl and make the grape disappear. He then tricked Ruthy by pulling out a grape and switching it by slipping in a crab rangoon in the bowl. When he switched them back leaving the grape and pulled the napkin away, Ruthy exclaims across the restaurant, "Where's my Raccoon?". It was quite a moment. After supper, we found a little park in Carthage to enjoy the outside for awhile.Everyone is finally asleep and since we skipped naps today, hopefully will sleep well tonight!!
