A good start to the week

We enjoyed the weekend and played outside a lot. Neither of the girls enjoy getting muddy so we went out to play in the mud. They didn't enjoy it too much but think they'll try it again later.

Saturday we played outside for several hours! We put Javan down on the grass for the first time and he loved it!! He immediately started pulling the grass up and of course, seeing what it tasted like. It's funny because I remember both of the girls' first times and they both just sat still not wanting the grass to touch them. Every time that I had to come inside to get something and brought Javan with me he started crying until we went back out. He loved being outside!!

I don't know if you remember Ruthy's pink high-heeled sandals that she wore EVERYWHERE the summer that she was 2 1/2. But she loved them and wore them to everything and with everything. I saved them for her and now Moriah is wearing them. Moriah is now wearing them everywhere, too (see picture above). She loves them and even though there's a little scratch on her toe from them she continues to wear them even if we're just playing in the living room.

Sunday we went to Travis & Lindsay's house to celebrate Mark's 30th birthday (which is Saturday, March 31st). Lindsay made a coconut cream pie that he really enjoyed! We had a fun time visiting with Travis & Lindsay, Nick & Lauren, and Josh.

We woke up Monday and went to the library then to JcPenneys to take Javan's 8 month portraits. He did really good. He's starting to pull himself up on things so we took a picture of him holding onto a ladder. All of his pictures turned out really good and we should have them in about a week.

After that, we met Stephanie, Ally, and Cy at Burger King to play for awhile. They enjoyed that then they napped in the afternoon.

Monday night, Ruthy and I went to a Pampered Chef party at Jani's house. She had fun and since she is the one who really enjoys cooking with me it was fun to take her. They made a chicken pizza but put BBQ sauce on top, so she didn't try it. Instead, she enjoyed Jani's fruit skewers the best.

Tuesday after Mom's Connection, Moriah fell down on the parking lot and scraped up both knees. Neither one is terrible but her right knee is a bit more scuffed than her left. She wouldn't let anyone see it or touch it. Finally, we put a bandaid on it even though it wasn't bleeding. She covered it up with her hand or something the rest of the morning. Then, when she woke up from naps she walked out all hunched over with her star blanket (her favorite) over her shoulders and wrapped around her knee to protect it. She tried to keep a straight face about it and be all serious but had a hard time when Ruthy and I got the giggles watching her.

Tuesday while we were putting pajamas on, Javan rolled over and sat himself up. He's been working on it for awhile and figured out how to push up his other arm today! He's learning so many new things. He makes this silly smile where he squints his eyes really tight and makes a smirk with his mouth. (this isn't the best picture of him with his new smile, but it's still cute and all I could get for now).

The girls watched a "Magic School Bus" movie where the students turn into bees. When the movie was finished she wished she could have a school bus that did that and she could turn into a bee. Then, at naps we read "Amelia Bedelia". At the end of the book, she commented on how silly Amelia Bedelia was and how she wished she could be her.

We're looking forward to church tonight. It rained this morning and we haven't gone outside today but the girls enjoyed playing inside. We "cooked" many different meals in their kitchen and Ruthy found the side rails to Javan's pack-n-play bassinet and used them as crutches. She and Moriah thought it was funny. Then, they turned them into skis and skied across the kitchen floor!
