It's Fall turkey season in Missouri...the whole month of October. It has some advantages over the Spring season as you can shoot any turkey you see, not just Toms. A student from the church took me up near Ravenwood, MO to hunt. We left town around 5:15 this morning and got up there before sunrise. His uncle hadn't gotten his corn in yet (only his beans), so there wasn't much chance of us catching them on their morning food run. We waited by a draw and hay field for about 1.5 hours then another draw for an hour. We could hear them in the corn, but never saw them. His uncle should get the corn in this week, so maybe we'll get some more time in the field before November and deer season arrives. We did spot 3 deer this morning, so that was fun.
The girls did their shopping as planned and found some great little buys on some shorts for next summer. Kohl's just opened up this month so they checked it out and Rachel got a new sweater for $5 after her gift card.
Ruthy and Moriah have a Little Tykes doll house that includes all the miniature toys that Little Tykes make for big kids to play with. Rachel found a garage sale that was selling a house and many of the items we were missing. So we purchased it and will be listing our duplicates and a house on eBay soon. They did pick up some neat pieces and the family dolls are complete now with a Dad, Mom, 2 girls, a boy, and 2 babies.
A college student that attends Central needed some help on a video project that is due Monday for his marketing class. Mark spent much of the evening assisting him. Mark and Moriah have runny noses and Rachel complained of a tight stomach. Hopefully our house sleeps well tonight and the flu stays away.
