New stories of the girls

Mark said it's my turn to update the blog so here's some things the girls have done or said this last week.

*Today on the way home from church Ruthy was talking about having a baby in her tummy. She said she looked through the hole in her tummy to see me (I was the baby). Then, she covered the hole back up.

*Moriah learned how to go down the stairs by herself this week. She has since tried it over and over and really enjoys being a 'big girl' and doing big girl things like Ruthy does. Sunday, she was practicing her new found trick. She'd been going up and down over and over. Finally, she went up the stairs to the kitchen, but didn't come down. When I went up to check on her she'd scaled a kitchen chair and was sitting proudly on top of the kitchen table. She has tried it over and over since.

*Ruthy is doing 'preschool' at home. Every two days we do a different letter of the alphabet. Tomorrow we'll finish up with the letter "L". We've both had fun doing different activities and it's helped me be more attentive to the everyday things to use as teaching opportunities. Tomorrow we plan to make lemonade by squeezing lemons.

*Moriah's 5th tooth has poked through and a 6th is on the way. She is saying "ooshh" for juice and loves "ooes" (shoes). She enjoys trying to dress up in Ruthy's numerous pairs of dress-up shoes (many have heels) but will settle for any of our family's shoes in the shoe basket in the living room.

*Ruthy 'cooked' spaghetti for Mark last night. When he came home after choir practice he had to rush out again to do some video-dubbing at Dr. Randy's home. Anyway, he didn't have time to eat the supper Ruthy had lavishly fixed and set out on a table. When she went to bed last night she told me that Daddy would have to eat it for breakfast since he didn't get to eat supper. As soon as he woke up this morning she made sure to have everyone sit down in their designated seats and enjoy her meal. She has enjoyed playing kitchen this week and cooking a variety of different meals.

Well, tomorrow is a big day as we're going to the Pumpkin Patch with the church playgroup and then to Build-a-Bear in Kansas City. Ruthy's bear, Carla, has a tear in her seam and we'll let them fix it. Watch tomorrow for pictures of our trip to the Pumpkin Patch.
